As the Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Feldman Ruel Urban Property Advisors, Ian Ruel is responsible for ensuring proper implementation of the firm’s strategic objectives, overseeing day-to-day operations, and representing owners and investors in commercial transactions.

Ruel and partner Josh Feldman launched the company in February 2020. Despite challenges generated by the pandemic and economic volatility, the company closed 101 transactions, opened a property management division, and grew the team from six to 15 agents, staff and property managers by early 2023.

Even with his busy schedule, Ruel finds ways to give back to the community. He has volunteered his time at the Capital Area Food Bank. Feldman Ruel participates in an Adopt-a-Block program, and Ruel dedicated his time in 2022 to training and raising funds for Haymaker’s For Hope.

Ruel is a member of the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers and the District of Columbia Building Industry Association. In the last five years, he’s also served on multiple commercial real estate panels throughout the District.

These are just a few reasons we chose Ian Ruel as one of Connect CRE Washington DC’s 2023 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s seventh annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders who will have a strong influence on the commercial real estate industry.
