Cindy Zhu

As Director, Grid Services with Seattle-based Prescriptive Data, Cindy Zhu leads the way with two incredibly important initiatives: Better buildings and a healthier planet. Zhu’s Grid Services has doubled in size this year, especially as climate change continues and electric grid demands increase.

Zhu develops and maintains mutually beneficial relationships between utilities, buildings and the grid. These efforts both safe money and reduce energy demands.

Zhu launched a four-part lunch-and-learn series on the energy industry. Through the series, she both educated and created an open forum for discussion. She’s also created presentations for college courses about interactivity between buildings, utility companies and the electric grid.

She helped launch the CELI (Clean Energy Leadership Institute) New York City Fellowship in 2021 and was recognized for her leadership role in that initiative. She relocated from New York City in early 2022; in her current location, Zhu continues fighting harder for the urgency and importance of grid services in the commercial real estate industry.

In November 2022, she will deliver a presentation at the Greenbuild conference about grid flexible buildings and how automation and technology can be used to optimize energy efficiency, reduce emissions, increase occupant comfort and secure grid reliability.
