Coldwell Banker Commercial

One of the youngest to earn title of controller

Highly visible in advancing opportunities for women in commercial real estate

Named a 2022 Emerging Leader Honoree by Career Mastered

As one of the youngest professionals in the accounting world to earn the title of controller, Nikki Thornton positively impacts the industry and her peers, demonstrating proven leadership both professionally and through her community outreach.

In her position, she is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day operations of Coldwell Banker Commercial MECA. She is also well on her way to being the quintessential female leader in the still largely male-dominated commercial real estate industry.

Thornton is passionate about the advancement of women and young professionals in the real estate industry. A recipient of the prestigious CREW Network Scholarship, Thornton is an active and highly visible leader with CREW Charlotte, serving in leadership roles and spearheading programs to support the community, including Classroom Central, Safe Alliance, Go Jen Go, Primax Pink Warriors, Habitat for Humanity and Second Harvest Food Bank. Thornton participated in CREW Charlotte’s 18-month Mentor program.

Career Mastered, a prestigious Women’s History Month awards program run by Linwick & Associates, recently named her a 2022 Emerging Leader Honoree. She is a member of the Primax Pink Warriors Planning Committee for fundraiser events and was recently appointed to the Associate Board of Ambassadors’ Taste of Hope Charlotte Gala for the American Cancer Society.

Thornton earned her accounting degree (with a leadership minor) from Western Carolina University and her Master of Accounting degree from Wingate University.

These are just a few reasons we chose Thornton as one of Atlanta/Southeast’s 2022 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s sixth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
