Sage Realty

Senior portfolio controller at Sage Realty

Two promotions in under three years

Takes ownership of projects by being willing to roll up her sleeves to get things done

Quickly rising through the ranks to become a senior portfolio controller at Sage Realty, Kelsey McCoy works directly under the CFO to manage the accounting and finances for a three-million-square-foot portfolio of Class A office buildings in Manhattan. After two promotions in under three years, she now manages a team of three controllers and a team of two lease administrators. Her even keeled personality paired with confidence and self-assurance has created the foundation for a strong and nurturing leader.

In her management role, she supervises individuals who have a longer tenure at Sage or many more years of experience. However, she has earned the respect and loyalty of both her teams. And that is the result of her style of leadership.

McCoy has advanced members of her team by providing opportunities to present reports to the executives at the company; cared for others by checking in on their mental health during the difficult periods of the pandemic and by encouraging PTO; and taken ownership of projects by always being willing to not just lend support but to also roll up her sleeves to get things done.

These are just a few reasons we chose McCoy as one of the New York/Tri-State 2021 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s fifth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
