Kayla Wilkie joined Majestic Realty Co. in 2018 and currently serves as strategic planning and development analyst. She works on various projects in Texas, California and Nevada participating in the development and implementation of strategic business plans, leasing strategies, operating budgets, operation analysis and overall value-creation for the portfolio.
During her time with Majestic, Wilkie has exhibited remarkable acumen in the Los Angeles-based developer’s real estate special projects including merchandising of retail and entertainment projects and the design and development of its award winning Mule Alley project in Fort Worth. Within Mule Alley, Majestic is now opening the crown jewel of the historic district, the Hotel Drover, where Wilkie had a significant impact on design, branding and marketing of the resort.
Due to the pandemic, Majestic lost its interiors firm 14 months ago and took that design aspect in-house, where Wilkie led the initiative on the Hotel Drover. The result has been singled out by Forbes and Travel and Leisure as one of the top hotels opening in the world this year.
These are some of the reasons we chose Wilkie as one of the National Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s fifth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
Paul Bubny serves as Senior Content Director for Connect Commercial Real Estate, a role to which he brings 13-plus years’ experience covering the commercial real estate industry and 30-plus years in business-to-business journalism. In this capacity, he oversees daily operations while also reporting on both local/regional markets and national trends, covering individual transactions across all property types, as well as delving into broader subject matter. He produces 15-20 daily news stories per day and works with the Connect team and clients to develop longer-form content, ranging from Q&As to thought-leadership pieces.
Prior to joining Connect, Paul was Managing Editor for both Real Estate Forum and GlobeSt.com at American Lawyer Media, where he oversaw operations at both publications while also producing daily news and feature-length articles. His tenure in B2B publishing stretches back into the print era, and he has served as Editor in Chief on four national trade publications.
Since 1999, Paul has volunteered as the newsletter editor of passenger rail advocacy groups (one national, one local).
