Andrew Anania is responsible for structuring and marketing Berkadia’s multi-investor tax credit funds, as well as managing the proprietary fund platform. Since joining the company in 2013, Anania has been responsible for raising more than $1 billion of institutional equity for its tax credit funds coast to coast plus Hawaii, where he has raised more than $100 million in equity since 2016. He’s a member of Berkadia Affordable’s Tax Credit Syndication management team, where he plays an integral role in developing the team’s strategy across all departments.
Anania’s technical expertise in the affordable equity market has allowed him to serve as a reputable partner to investors and is a contributing factor to the tax credit syndication team’s ability to grow, to innovate, and to capitalize on new opportunities. Colleagues say he’s direct and transparent and consistently delivers on his commitments with clients and teammates.
Anania has more than 10 years of private equity investment experience across many special situations including organic high growth, acquisitions/integrations, distress and turnarounds. Prior to joining Berkadia, Andrew served as a senior associate for a Philadelphia-based investment advisory firm where he was responsible for sourcing, structuring and managing private equity and debt investments for high net worth and institutional investors across a broad range of industries (manufacturing, media/telecom, real estate, financial services, and energy).
These are just a few reasons we chose Anania as one of the National 2021 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s fifth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
