Leung Drives Affordable Housing and Community Development at Gilbane

Company:

Gilbane Development

Serin Leung is a Development Director at Gilbane Development, where she focuses on the company’s expanding affordable and mixed-income housing platform in New York City. Her duties include deal structuring, financing strategies, entitlements process, design development, construction and management.

Her current projects include the 283-unit, 291,000-square-foot mixed-use Brownsville Arts Center & Apartments in Brooklyn, which includes a 24,300-square-foot community facility. She also handles the six-building Manhattanville PACT in West Harlem, a 1,272-unit NYCHA rehabilitation center benefiting more than 2,900 residents through a tenant-in-place historic preservation strategy.

She has been the project manager for Essex Market, New York City’s first new public market, and for Bridge Rockaway, a $118 million co-located affordable housing/light manufacturing development.

Leung’s professional work is tied to community impact, delivering affordable homes, community facilities, public market spaces and cultural programming.

These are just a few reasons we chose Serin Leung as one of Connect CRE’s New York & Tri-State Next Generation Award winners. Connect CRE’s annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders who will have a strong influence on the commercial real estate industry.
