James Mitchell is an executive vice president at CBRE who specializes in tenant representation of large retail anchors, junior anchors, outparcels and inline users. He also handles surplus property disposition for many clients, especially on behalf of several financial institution clients.

Over his 21-year career, Mitchell has executed more than $1.5 billion in transactions for his clients. In 2023, he completed 80 retail transactions in Florida (14 sales, 66 leases) totaling 573,034 square feet.

One deal involved the largest retail build-to-suit and ground leases in Central Florida’s Winter Park. In both transactions, he represented Hill Gray Seven LLC.

Mitchell completed 117 deals throughout his career on behalf of his long-time client McDonalds and has a full pipeline of new store developments going into 2024 and 2025.

He also provides landlord advisory services to retail developers and large institutions to assist them in their full development process from initial land acquisition to full lease up and eventual exit sale. Mitchell represents over 1.2 million square feet of institutional-grade retail product and several ground-up new retail developments.

These are some of the reasons we selected James Mitchell as one of the Florida & Gulf Coast winners in Connect CREs 2024 Top Broker Awards. These awards recognize industry professionals who have demonstrated the highest standards and transaction volumes in investment sales and leasing.
