Sai Uppalapati is GI Stone’s project director, overseeing the company’s bidding activities. handles sourcing, fabrication and interior/exterior custom stone installation on high-profile commercial and multifamily real estate projects. Jobs have included The St. Regis Chicago Hotel, Salesforce Tower, Embry, The Row Fulton Market and Tribune Tower Residences.

Furthermore, Uppalapati expanded GI Stone’s business into new markets like Nashville. The firm provides stone for the Dinnerstein Companies’ 300-unit apartment Aspire Midtown. Uppalati’s efforts helped GI Stone double its year-over-year revenue and significantly increase its profit margin.

Uppalapati left his native India at age 22, arriving in the U.S. with only two suitcases. He joined GI Stone as a project coordinator and rose to his current role. Uppalapati mentors new employees, many of whom come from underserved and minority communities. He is also part of Saire (South Asians in Real Estate) a social organization co-founded by GI Stone President, Sandya Dandamudi.

Uppalapati has been recognized by Real Estate Journals as a CRE Future Leader.
