The 16-person Berkadia Houston Multifamily Investment Sales Team (led by Chris Curry, Todd Marix, Jeffrey Skipworth, Chris Young, Joey Rippel and Kyle Whitney) enjoyed its best year on record in 2022. The Houston-based team closed a total of 55 transactions totaling 15,144 units with a gross dollar volume exceeding $2.7 billion.
The team also outperformed every other investment sales team in the Houston market MSCI Real Capital Analytics ranked the team #1 based on total investment sales volume by year-end. Sales included record-setting sales prices in the Houston metro on a per-unit and per-square-foot basis.
Notable transactions included the 325-unit Madera Residential of the Chelsea Museum District; the 380-unit Lenox Clear Lake and the 354-unit Dawson. The team also arranged the contribution and finance of the four-property, 1,115-unit Southstar Sunbelt Multifamily Portfolio, with properties in Texas and Florida. The team also secured tax advantages for buyers through multifamily properties acquisition es in a Qualified Opportunity Zone (QOZ), and provided guidance for Public Facility Corporation (PFC) financing.
