The CBRE Mid-Atlantic Multifamily Investment Properties Team has led the multifamily sales advisory business in the Mid-Atlantic region for decades. The team is comprised of over 24 professionals with specialties in the areas of investment sales, operations, marketing and underwriting. Over the past five years the team of 11 real estate sales professionals has closed over $14 billion in debt and equity transactions, representing the largest annual volume ever for CBRE’s Mid-Atlantic Region.
The team consistently ranked as the top multifamily investment sales team in the region (according to Real Capital Analytics data) and has averaged 40% market share over the past 21-plus years.
In 2021 alone, the team completed $5.2 billion of sales transactions, including six prominent portfolio sales. One of the team’s more notable and high-profile transactions of 2021 is the sale of the Barcroft Apartments, a 1,334-unit multifamily community in Arlington, VA that is one of Arlington County’s largest affordable housing complexes. Jair Lynch acquired the property, which is now set to be preserved for 99 years with the help of $310 million in loans from Amazon.com Inc. and Arlington County.
Other notable 2021 transactions include the sale of the MD-5 portfolio, which comprised workforce housing communities of apartments (1,646) and townhomes (1,395) as well as the sale of The Millennium at Metropolitan Park, an apartment building located directly across from where Amazon.com Inc.’s first HQ2 buildings are under construction in Pentagon City.
