Christine Espenshade and Robert Garrish have been working together since 2012 and have orchestrated the sale of more than $8 billion of assets in the Mid-Atlantic. With approximately $2 billion of transactions completed in 2021 alone, Christine and Robert were successful in advising clients with tailored marketing strategies to fit their investment goals.
While some transactions were broadly marketed to thousands of investors, some transactions were marketed on a selective basis to qualified groups who could meet a sellers timing and pricing expectations. Working with their partner, Shawn McDonald, who leads the team’s debt practice, Christine and Robert also recommended effective finance options for owners to implement various operational strategies for asset repositioning or partner recapitalization.
One of the team’s most notable transactions in 2021 includes the sale of a more than $200 million core-plus quality community in the life sciences corridor of Montgomery County, MD. With Christine and Robert’s extreme familiarity with the market and expected growth due to government and private spending in biotech, they were able to achieve pricing 15% higher than projected.
Throughout the year, the team successfully represented some of the largest institutions in the country while also advising private buyers and local families on successful disposition strategies. Their collaborative, creative detailed and hands-on approach to marketing and sales make them one of the top investment sales teams in the region.
