Last year was one of the most active multifamily markets experienced at Berkadia, and that momentum has carried into 2022.
One trend that emerged in 2021 was an increase in portfolio activity. Two of the company’s most interesting transactions were portfolios that had to close by year end. Berkadia’s seven-property Strategic Portfolio indicates the continued demand for in-fill, workforce housing product. Another portfolio, a three-property transaction in Paulding and Forsyth counties, was executed contract to close in 20 days.
Both transactions demonstrate the phenomenal demand for multifamily product throughout the metro, in-town and suburban submarkets.
