Mandy Weitknecht
Leads business development for Florida’s building operations
Grew company's business amid the pandemic
Works closely with Skanska’s Diversity and Inclusion Team
In an industry where women make up less than 10% of its workforce, Mandy Weitknecht has made a name for herself at Skanska USA. As VP for Skanska USA Building, Weitknecht leads business development for Florida’s building operations.
Professionally, Weitknecht’s uncanny leadership was evident in her ability to grow Skanska’s business during a time when uncertainty was faced at every level (and bringing stability to the organization while ensuring people had jobs). Many of her clients and partners were forced to reexamine their growth and capital outlay, but Weyknecht stayed vigilant in presenting them with information and options that gave them confidence to move forward.
Weitknecht works closely with Skanska’s Diversity and Inclusion Team to offer internal training programs and workshops specifically surrounding the LGBTQ+ community in Central Florida. The overall goal for this initiative is to ensure the Skanska team is being mindful and educated on all areas of diversity, not just on the basis of gender or ethnicity.
Whether involving junior employees in Skanska’s business development efforts, identifying strategic partnerships to maximize the impact of Skanska’s community outreach efforts throughout the state or helping clients procure hard-to-find resources during COVID-19, Weitknecht tackles every challenge head-first. She serves as a role model for other women seeking to enter and build long-term careers in the region’s active construction industry.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Weitknecht as one of the Florida & Gulf Coast 2021 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
