Coralee Penabad
Founding principal of Urban-X Group
Reputation for turning around some of the most troubled real estate projects in Miami
Shepherded completion of construction and opening of River Landing Shops & Residences during the COVID-19 pandemic
Coralee Penabad is a founding principal of Urban-X Group and has been with the company since its inception in 2006. Her main focus is the oversight of all acquisitions, financing, marketing and operations.
Penabad’s greatest professional accomplishment in the past 12 months is shepherding the completion of construction and opening of River Landing Shops & Residences in Miami during the COVID-19 pandemic. When the pandemic first hit in early 2020, it pushed back the project’s opening and threatened its very future as regional and national retailers contemplated pausing the opening their stores until mid-2021. Thanks to her leadership skills, Penabad was able to convince its founding tenants to move ahead with opening their doors in the fall of 2020.
Penabad has long been a major influencer in South Florida’s real estate industry. A measure of her influence is the people that have followed in her footsteps. Since the construction of the River Landing project, multiple developers and investors have followed her lead investing and developing in the area.
Because of her recognized ability to identify difficult issues and implement simple solutions, Penabad has developed a reputation for turning around some of the most troubled real estate projects in Miami. Examples include her work with Paramount Bay and 151 at Biscayne Condominium following the real estate collapse in 2008.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Penabad as one of the Florida & Gulf Coast 2021 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
