Amarjit Marj Bains
Began JLL career in 2002, when she emigrated from the U.K. to Miami
Worked her way up from temporary receptionist to EVP
Developing long-term strategies for her clients and their trophy assets in a collaborative manner has been key to success
When Amarjit “Marj” Bains joined JLL in 2002, her educational background was in accounting. After immigrating from the United Kingdom to Miami, she was hired as a temporary receptionist at JLL’s office in Miami. Soon after, she joined the property management team and became a property administrator before being promoted to manager, then director and now EVP.
As EVP, Bains manages prime real estate assets on a daily basis in addition to engaging with brokers during the lease negotiation process and supporting the new tenants when building out their spaces and taking occupancy. During capital and operational projects, Bains brings together the architect, general contractor, the property management team and the client to ensure a holistic approach. Developing long-term strategies for her clients and their trophy assets in a collaborative manner — with all perspectives taken into account — has been her key to success.
When the pandemic began, the priorities for Bains’ property management team centered on ensuring the health and well-being of the tenants, visitors and property management staff at the office buildings JLL manages. Under her leadership, property management teams implemented additional cleaning protocols at each asset, reconfigured common areas, conference rooms and fitness centers in the buildings to ensure tenants and guests were able to adhere to CDC guidelines.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Bains as one of the Florida & Gulf Coast 2021 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
