Karen Urosevich
Award-winning retail and hospitality designer, combined with experience in development management and retail tenant construction management
Has tripled the size of her team at WS Development
Active in ICSC Centerbuild since 2014
Karen Urosevich CDP, LEED AP brings more than 15 years’ experience in the real estate world. She is an award-winning retail and hospitality designer which she has combined with experience in development management and retail tenant construction management. Most recently, Urosevich joined WS Development in 2018 to oversee the Studio department. Her unique perspective provided a complementary skill set to WS, a retail-centric mixed-use developer.
During her tenure at WS, Urosevich has tripled the size of her team, securing many of the most talented and diverse designers, architects and project managers within the industry. She has revolutionized the way her team does business, bringing many services in-house, thus saving the organization money and leveraging talent within the department.
Having never created a design firm, Urosevich established a vision for Studio, recognizing the needs of the company, roles desired for the department, and identifying the best talent for those positions. She is constantly evaluating her team’s workflow and prioritizing projects and timelines for the company at large, including managing communication and needs of many stakeholders cross functionally.
Outside of WS, Urosevich is a leader who is invested fully in the future of the industry. She has been active in ICSC Centerbuild since 2014 and currently serving her second consecutive year on the Planning Advisory Committee. This year, her focus is on recognizing future leaders as part of the Leaders Under 40 subcommittee.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Urosevich as one of the Boston & New England 2021 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
