Chief among his team’s accomplishments of the past year is closing on more than $1 billion in debt and equity in the midst of an uncertain and turbulent market.
In 2020, despite the slowdown stemming from the global pandemic, Knight’s team closed 67 transactions totaling $1.37 billion.
These transactions include sourcing debt and equity for the ground up construction of several large (million-plus square foot) industrial deals, as well as a new ground-up apartment community by Hines in Houston.
Tucker Knight is senior managing director in the mortgage banking division of Berkadia, where his responsibilities include loan origination, equity placement and management of the Berkadia Texas offices. Having joined Berkadia in 2015 and built the Houston-based practice from the ground up, today the Houston office ranks among the top of Berkadia’s national network in production annually and Knight is a perennial member of the firm’s elite CEO Circle recognizing the top 10 producers nationally. Knight and his team provide advisory services and financing solutions for some of Texas’ most prominent real estate investors and developers, groups such as Hines, Venterra and Fowler Property, among others.
In addition to establishing Berkadia as the pre-eminent source for commercial real estate financing in Texas, Knight is a dynamic and driven team builder, and another one of his key accomplishments in 2020 was the addition of investment sales team Chris Curry, Todd Marix, Joey Rippel and Chris Young to the Berkadia Houston office. With Texas emerging as a multifamily hotspot for investors from across the spectrum, Knight saw this team as critical to bringing best-in-class services and solutions to Berkadia’s clients and capitalizing on opportunities in the coming months. So far in 2021, Knight and his team have already executed on $776 million across 37 transactions.
