As a managing director of Berkadia’s Houston Investment Sales team, Joey Rippel’s expertise includes multi-housing investment advisory throughout the Greater Houston MSA, focusing on multifamily assets. In partnership with Berkadia’s Houston team, Rippel has worked on 126 deals totaling $5.5 billion in total volume since 2021. One notable highlight includes a $158-million sale of a five-property portfolio. Since launching his career in 2015, he has participated in approximately $9 billion in transactions.

Rippel mentors every analyst and intern who comes through Berkadia Houston’s doors. He is one of Berkadia Houston’s primary contact points for media speaking engagements and conferences.

As part of the Berkadia team, Rippel has been honored annually for market share, market influence, and significant deal sizes. Most recently, the team was recognized as one of the Houston Business Journal’s Heavy Hitters for Multifamily, and one of the Texas winners and the only Houston team for Connect CRE’s Top Broker Awards.

He is a member of the NMHC and its Emerging Leaders Group. Rippel served as Rodeo Committeeman Captain of the Calf Scramble Donor’s Committee and founded The Rippel Effect, a charity he started after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2008.
