Sarah Williams Led Development of Breakthrough’s 10-Acre Torrey Heights Life Science Campus

Company:

Breakthrough Properties

Sarah Williams is vice president of design and construction at Breakthrough Properties, where she oversees development across the West Coast and Colorado.

Williams joined Breakthrough to lead development of Torrey Heights, a 10-acre life science campus in San Diego’s Del Mar Heights. Completed in 2023 and opened in 2024, the campus is 100% leased to Pfizer’s oncology division and other life science companies.

These days, Williams oversees Breakthrough’s development efforts throughout the West Coast and Colorado, including Torrey Plaza in San Diego and Boulder 38 in Colorado. She advises asset management and acquisition teams on pricing and due diligence, and supports clients in lease negotiations.

She joined Breakthrough as a director and has been promoted twice, most recently to vice president in 2024.

She also helped develop Breakthrough’s internal mentorship program and serves as a regional lead. She serves on Sharp HealthCare’s Real Estate and Construction Committee and volunteers with Rescue House cat rescue.

Williams was named a San Diego Business Journal Women of Influence in Construction.

These are just a few reasons Sarah Williams is among the California Connect CRE 2026 Women in Real Estate Award winners. The award honors the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
