Successfully defended a land court breach of contract case

As a partner in Nutter’s Real Estate Department and member of the Development, Land Use, and Permitting practice group, Sarah Turano-Flores handles permitting and litigation related to zoning and wetland appeals, affordable housing appeals, easement and title disputes, beach accretion and abatement appeals. Sarah focuses her practice on land use and title litigation before the Massachusetts Land, Superior and Probate Courts, the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the Department of Environmental Protection, the Housing Appeals Committee and the Appellate Tax Board.

Notable cases include R. Scott Murray et al. v. Steven A. Meyer, in which she successfully defended a land court case involving breach of contract on appeal to the Massachusetts Appeal Court. She also successfully prosecuted a land court case regarding easement rights on behalf of the plaintiffs in Seth McClennen et al. v. Roel Astacaan et al.

She spearheaded the firm’s efforts to create a wellness subcommittee. Outside the company, she serves on the Cape Cod Times Needy Fund’s board of directors, on the Cape Cod and Islands Major Crisis Relief Fund’s advisory committee and with the Law Firm Anti-Racism Alliance. She is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association, its Litigation Section, and the Abstract Club. She has also served as a panelist on wetlands permitting and moderated a series of panels with the Northeast Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel on diversity in the legal profession.

Turano-Flores has been listed in Massachusetts Lawyers Week (Top Women of Law) and in the Best Lawyers in America.
