Laura Gonzales is the first female Market Leader for Matthews Real Estate Investment Services. Her 20-year background includes construction, bridge, and stabilized commercial real estate lending. She has a comprehensive understanding of the Jacksonville market. Her efforts to expand the Jacksonville office significantly grew Matthews’ presence in the market in less than 12 months.
Before joining Matthews, Gonzales worked at Franklin Street, where she was regional managing director of the Jacksonville brokerage team. In that role, she doubled the local team while placing debt and equity organizations for the capital markets group.
Gonzales is involved with several local and national real estate groups, speaking at various events and networking with industry leaders. She is active in the industry as a ULI, CREW, ICSC, and NAIOP member. She is on the Board of Directors as NAIOP’s VP of Public Affairs; she was previously treasurer.
She is the past NEFL ULI Chair of Sponsorship, past ULI Chair of Membership (2016-2017), and current ULI Multifamily Florida Product Council member. She serves on several ULI committees, including Affordable Housing, Diversity Equity and Inclusion and Urban Plan. Gonzales is a past president of CREW Jacksonville and continues to serve on various committees.
Gonzales serves on Leadership Jacksonville’s planning committee and has been the co-chair of Poverty Day since 2019. She was on the Board of PACE Center for Girls, Jacksonville, until her term ran out. She is still active with them as Friends for PACE. Gonzales is also involved with the Rethreaded charity in the Circle of Sisters.
These are just a few reasons we chose Laura Gonzales as one of the Florida-Gulf Coast Connect CRE’s 2023 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and play key mentorship roles for others.
