The dynamic duo of Chris Young and Joey Rippel recognized untapped potential in the private capital market in Houston and built the internal practice from the ground up.

Their efforts increased team sales volume by 22 percent in three short years, and now directly account for 42 percent of the team’s overall sales volume.

They have already cultivated relationships with 53 new clients and established the team as a leader in the Houston private capital market space.

Chris Young, with colleague Joey Rippel, joined Berkadia’s Houston investment sales team in February 2021. Prior to Berkadia, both served as advisers at JLL Capital Markets, Americas and participated in more than $4 billion in multifamily transactions.

About Lisa Brown

Lisa Brown has decades of experience in corporate communications and marketing management with organizations including Coldwell Banker Residential, Grubb & Ellis, Marcus & Millichap, NAIOP, SIOR and ALM. In those positions, she worked in conjunction with chief executive officers and chief marketing officers to create corporate messaging, cohesive branding standards, strategic marketing plans and thought pieces. Brown is a frequent speaker at industry events and an editing adjunct professor for an online course. She has a master’s degree in mass communications from San Jose State University.
