Jeffrey L. Hunter

For more than 20 years, Jeff Hunter of Perkins Coie has been counseling corporate, governmental and individual clients both in the United States and internationally on a wide variety of issues related to the environment including: regulatory compliance; administrative enforcement and environmental litigation including white collar criminal matters, permitting and development and defending against permit challenges, cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated industrial and commercial properties and brownfield redevelopment projects, and environmental due diligence in real estate and corporate transactions.

Hunter’s environmental counseling and administrative enforcement experience includes extensive representation related to the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Hazardous Materials Transportation Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act; the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act; the Emergency Planning & Community Right-to-Know Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Mine Safety and Health Act, state laws operating in lieu of the federal environmental programs, state electronic-waste recycling laws, state product labeling and reporting laws including California Proposition 65 and children’s safe products, and international laws regarding the Restriction of Hazardous Substances, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals.

Hunter has led and advised clients on internal investigations and audits relating to environmental compliance, disclosure of the findings, development of environmental compliance management systems and obtaining ISO 14001 certification.
