Sara Smith Handles Redgate’s Transition Planning and Operational Readiness Practice

Company:

Redgate

Sara Smith is Redgate’s associate vice president. She leads the firm’s Transition Planning and Operational Readiness practice, helping healthcare, higher education and corporate clients prepare their people, processes and operations for major real estate changes.

Smith has played a central role in establishing transition planning and operational readiness as a Redgate service. Her client portfolio includes Boston Medical Center, Dana-Farber, Fenway Health, NeighborHealth, The Dimock Center and Simmons University, as well as major corporate relocations.

At Boston Medical Center, Smith supports the institution’s largest campus transformation, coordinating readiness activities across new inpatient, surgical, emergency, ambulatory and research environments while maintaining continuity of patient care. At Simmons University, she serves as the transition planning lead for an 18-story Living and Learning Center that will support more than 1,000 students and is scheduled to open in January 2027.

She leads Redgate’s RISE women’s group, mentors through the Boston Society of Architects and serves as a CoreNet member.

She received Redgate’s Thrive on Connection award and the Ed Benz People and Culture Award.

These are just a few reasons Sara Smith is among the Boston & New England Connect CRE 2026 Women in Real Estate Award winners. The award honors the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
