As BakerHostetler Partner, Joann Jones focuses on real estate development and finance. She has significant experience in commercial real estate development, particularly in the healthcare industry. Jones works with medical providers, including hospital systems and the owners and operators of long-term care facilities and provides deep experience in leasing and ground leasing of medical office buildings and crafting compliant lease agreements between hospitals and physician groups.
Her experience includes negotiating and closing a sale-leaseback transaction involving the renovation of a defunct retail development into a state-of-the-art medical office building and cancer center, assembling, over a period of years, several hundred acres of property for the site of a replacement hospital and assisting the Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta in restructuring its real estate holdings.
Jones is a member of the American Bar Association, Business Law Section and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and the State Bar of Georgia, Real Property Section. Her community activities include involvement with the Georgia Conservancy, Holy Spirit Preparatory School (Board of Trustees) and Holy Spirit College (Board of Advisors).
The Atlanta Business Chronicle recognized her as one of the Most Admired CEOs in Atlanta. Jones has been recognized by the Legal 500 United States, Chambers USA (Real Estate in Georgia) and the Best Lawyers in America.
She received her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
