Anant Yardi, Yardi Systems

Anant Yardi founded Yardi Systems in 1982, recognizing the need for integrated accounting and property management software to serve the residential marketplace. He used his background in developing programming methods and directing systems development at the Burroughs Corporation to help. Since then, Yardi has guided the company through over 35 years of steady growth. Today, he is still the President and CEO of Yardi Systems, an industry leader in real estate asset and property management solutions.

Yardi helped establish the Yardi Scholarship at the University of California, Berkeley, to help students gain the technological tools and knowledge needed to improve their world.

He has been recognized as one of the early pioneers in the commercial real estate automation industry, receiving Realcomm’s “Digie” award and being inducted into the Multi-Housing News Hall of Fame.

Yardi earned an M.S. in Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

These are some of the reasons why Anant Yardi was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s first annual AB 100 Innovator of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
