Newmark’s Carolinas Multifamily Sales Team is led by Vice Chairmen John Heimburger, Dean Smith and Sean Wood. The group specializes in national multifamily and mixed-use transactions. In 2025, the team brought 41 deals to the closing table, valued at $2.59 billion, while handling nearly 90% of $100 million-plus multifamily transactions throughout the Carolinas.
Notable deals featured the three largest single-asset sales in North Carolina since 2022: Birkdale Village in the affluent Lake Norman submarket of the Charlotte MSA, Peace Apartments in downtown Raleigh, and Hawkins Press in Charlotte’s South End.
