Swaroopa Penikelapati has been integral in digitizing the commercial real estate industry. She has over  20 years of experience in technology across multiple sectors, including healthcare, finance and real estate. With a deep bench of expertise in growing proptech startups and driving successful acquisitions during her time as director of engineering at dotloop (acquired by Zillow) and co-founder and CTO of PropertyCapsule (acquired by VTS), Penikelapati boasts unique skills that drive successful product integrations following mergers and acquisitions.

She advises the executive team on forward-thinking strategies and opportunities based on the latest trends. Additionally, Penikelapati oversees all technology tactics while working with talent acquisition and human resource teams to ensure the best talent hiring and retention and prioritizing a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.

Most recently, Penikelapati led the creation and development of VTS Activate, the company’s newly launched tenant experience solution built off of the previous acquisitions of tenant experience companies, Rise Buildings and Lane Technologies.

As an immigrant and woman of color, Penikelapati has faced several challenges arising from being the only female executive at the table working in software technology and commercial real estate. Going the extra mile has been essential to earning the trust and recognition of her male peers. It has taught her the importance of perseverance in facing adversity and obstacles that often seem daunting.
