Cushman & Wakefield’s Washington, D.C. Equity, Debt & Structured Finance team is integrated within a dynamic Capital Markets team. The team is led by Marshall Scallan, Michael Zelin and Bindi Shah.

Notable 2022 transactions included the sourcing of Opportunity Zone LP Equity and Construction Financing, totaling $643 million in capitalization. The team also played a crucial role in sourcing financing for the Ballston Exchange and 1201 New York projects.

The team approached each financing transaction as a complex jigsaw puzzle, meticulously assembling the pieces to achieve optimal cost of capital for our sponsors. This involved exploring unconventional options, such as partnering with two or three smaller banks instead of relying solely on one large bank, and integrating innovative financing components like PACE, mezzanine financing and preferred equity within the capital stack.
