Ramsey Daya, Vice Chairman, and Chris Moritz, Executive Managing Director, lead Newmark’s West Coast Debt and Structured Finance team based in San Francisco. Since joining the firm in 2017, the team has closed more than $20 billion in debt and joint-venture equity throughout the country.

In 2022, the team navigated the turbulent capital markets, successfully placing more than $4.1 billion of financing across 59 transactions. This included the capitalization of seven life science transactions totaling over $700 million.

Additionally, the team has grown into the largest provider of non-agency multifamily debt in the Western U.S. In 2022, Daya and Moritz successfully secured over $1.8 billion of multifamily debt across over 8,800 units. Other notable transactions included securing a $145-million permanent loan for 1180 Main Street, representing the highest office loan/San Francisco office loan in the Bay Area. The team also closed on a $355 million non-recourse construction loan for Spur Phase I, a speculative, 330,000-square-foot life-science development in South San Francisco.

These are some of the reasons we selected Ramsey Daya and Chris Moritz for inclusion in the 2023 Connect CRE Top Mortgage Brokers and Lenders Awards. These awards recognize industry professionals who have demonstrated the highest commercial real estate finance standards.
