Carter Wood joined Berkadia’s Mid-Atlantic Multifamily Capital Markets Sales Team as a Director in May of 2020. Since his arrival, Wood has marketed or sold more than $450 million worth of multifamily properties. Wood is based out of Richmond, VA, but focuses on multifamily transactions across the entire state.
Wood has more than five years of experience in the multifamily industry. He started his career spending most of his time getting to know the owners of multifamily properties throughout southern Virginia, as well as each individual asset, with the understanding that the opportunity likely wouldn’t come today, but maybe in the near future as he established his career. He values taking the long view, rather than short-term successes.
To that end, Wood dedicated time to reading books on the brokerage business, taking classes on underwriting multifamily assets, and focusing on 101-level concepts of business development that the more experienced brokers didn’t have the time to do.These are just a few reasons we chose Wood as one of the Washington, DC 2021 Next Generation Award winners.
