Pelayo Coll is co-chair of the real estate practice group at Blank Rome and maintains a national practice counseling clients in all facets of real estate transactions. He focuses on assisting clients in sales and acquisitions, financings, leasing, and entity structuring and restructuring for many types of projects including office and industrial buildings; residential and mixed-use projects; healthcare facilities; retail developments; and automobile and other specialty uses.
Examples of Coll’s experience include representing a large national senior housing developer, in acquisitions and financing of senior care facilities in Florida, Maryland, and Pennsylvania; representing a large publicly traded REIT in its repositioning of a Center City Philadelphia mall; and representing a joint venture sponsored by George Comfort & Sons, Inc., in the acquisition, financing and ultimate disposition of Worldwide Plaza, a 47-story Class A office building in Midtown Manhattan.
Coll has substantial experience in and in-depth knowledge of the acquisition, financing, and disposition of multifamily properties including large multi-site transactions. He has been involved in a number of the largest asset transactions over the past few years.
Outside Blank Rome, Coll has been involved in numerous civic and community groups in Philadelphia, particularly those serving the Latino community. He is vice-chair (and a past chair) of the board of directors of Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha, Inc., one of Philadelphia’s leading Latino-based health, human services, community, and economic development nonprofit organizations helping Philadelphia-area families achieve their full potential in life.
Coll also serves on the board of directors of the Pan-American Association of Philadelphia, which is an all-volunteer, non-partisan, nonprofit organization that seeks to “promote cultural, educational and economic activities designed to increase understanding and cooperation among the peoples of the Americas.”
These are some of the reasons that we named Coll to our National grouping of Lawyers in Real Estate. These are real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in both their practice and the larger community.
