She has conducted significant representation of foreign pension funds in complex acquisitions and joint venture negotiations with both domestic and foreign joint venture partners for the purpose of investing in class A office, multifamily, industrial and life science assets throughout the US.

An entity owned by the tiers in the joint venture is the long-term ground tenant of property on 28th Street in New York City, and construction of a 480-unit multifamily apartment building commenced in fall 2020. The transaction involved closing a $173-million construction loan.

Nelson is past president of CREW Boston, and currently serves on the board of directors of Heading Home, Inc., a Boston-based non-profit serving homeless and formerly homeless families and individuals.
Within DLA Piper, Nelson was an active participant on the Leadership Alliance for Women Steering Committee for several years, and still serves as a mentor to and supporter of many of DLA Piper’s women lawyers.
These are some of the reasons that we named Nelson to our Boston & New England grouping of Lawyers in Real Estate. These are real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in both their practice and the larger community.
Lisa McDuffie arrives at ConnectCRE via REALTOR® world, where she served for nearly two decades as communications director for one of the nation’s largest REALTOR® organizations. She supported two membership-elected presidents who were commercial real estate practitioners, and managed the communications initiatives of the organization’s commercial special interest group.
When not following the latest commercial real estate news, Lisa is zeroed in on her charismatic off-the-track thoroughbred as she makes the transition from an utterly failed racehorse to a lovely show hunter.
