Robin Potts
Initiated debt and equity investment on over $21 billion of transactions
Serves as speaker and panelist for KAYO and the Milken Institute
As Canyon Partners’ partner and CIO, Robin Potts initiated debt and equity investments on over $21 billion of commercial real estate transactions across all asset classes. One key advantage of Canyon’s debt strategy is its unique partnership with JP Morgan to co-originate senior loans, which provides whole loan solutions to borrowers during historic capital constraints.
Recent investments include co-originating with JPM a non-recourse senior construction loan for a mixed-use residential community in Wynwood, Miami. Under Potts’ leadership, Canyon launched an opportunity zone equity platform and was admitted as a buyer to the highly selective Freddie Mac B-Piece new issuance program, of which there are only 20 other firms in the current rotation.
With 20 years of experience in real estate investing, Potts joined Canyon Partners in 2006 as an analyst. She was promoted to co-head, then partner and CIO in 2023.
Regularly featured as a speaker and panelist for notable institutions like KAYO and the Milken Institute, Potts also served as a mentor at IREI Springboard and remains involved in various educational programs for women in investment management. She sits on Canyon’s ESG Committee. Potts is also an avid supporter of the arts and theatre community, serving on the graduate board of Harvard’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the oldest running theater group in the country.
These are just a few reasons we chose Robin Potts as one of the National Connect CRE’s 2023 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and play key mentorship roles for others.
