TikTok Eyes Bellevue Expansion at Former Microsoft Office
Social media company TikTok, which is owned by parent company ByteDance, is expanding its footprint in Bellevue. TikTok is in the process of finalizing a lease to occupy six floors in the Lincoln Square North tower, doubling its existing space.
TikTok is looking to lease space recently left vacant by Microsoft’s exit from the downtown office market. Microsoft once occupied 442,000 square feet of the tower, but much like other Seattle employers, has opted not to renew its leases.
The deal would bring TikTok’s total office space in Bellevue to more than 242,000 square feet, with the company currently occupying more than 110,000 square feet in the Key Center, reported the Puget Sound Business Journal. TikTok’s expansion is due in part to the company’s e-commerce business growth following the app’s launch of an online shopping feature.
