Brenda Barrett Leads AMC to Its Highest-Ever National Ranking
As CEO of Apartment Management Consultants (AMC), Brenda Barrett oversees the company’s national growth strategy, property management operations, client relationships, technology initiatives and talent development. Under her leadership, AMC rose to No. 5 on the 2026 National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) Top 50 Managers list, its highest ranking ever.
Barrett joined AMC in 2003 as vice president of operations, two years after the company’s founding. She advanced through leadership roles, including president of property management operations, before becoming CEO. She brings more than 38 years of multifamily experience, including leadership roles at Equity Residential and Apartment Investment and Management Co.
Barrett led investments in technology, data capabilities and employee development. Initiatives she supports include a master insurance program designed to help clients address rising insurance costs. She has also expanded AMC’s leadership infrastructure and emphasized internal promotions and career advancement.
Barrett is active with community support, including food drives, Sub for Santa programs, the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society.
She received AMC’s Pillar of the Industry Award from the Utah Rental Housing Association.
These are just a few reasons Brenda Barrett is among the National Connect CRE 2026 Women in Real Estate Award winners. The award honors the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
