Kerri Raines

A top producer with a consecutive record of total annual loan volume during the seven years in her role with Regions Bank, Kerri Raines identifies and originates opportunities to place permanent secured debt, primarily through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. She will also place FHA loans, as well as life company debt through existing relationships, when those are helpful and beneficial solutions to clients.

The majority of Raines’ clients are REITs (both public and private) and institutional funds specializing in owning and operating large multifamily portfolios throughout the country. During the nearly seven years in her role (now as managing director and previously as director), she has placed approximately $3 billion in secured, non-recourse debt with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA and life company relationships.  

Raines credits her outstanding performance last year partly to opportunity rising out of the bond market disruption. That disruption ultimately opened a path toward providing better priced agency financing to many of her institutional grade multifamily clients. These clients, who normally would issue unsecured notes via a private placement or fixed-income issuance were finding those options to be more expensive than opportunities within the secured market with GSEs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. This is in addition to the more typical joint venture opportunities in need of financing options during 2023.  

Raines was also named a “Top 10 Originator” as part of Fannie Mae’s 2023 DUS Lender Awards. The agency also ranked Regions Real Estate Capital Markets a Top 5 DUS Producer for Structured Transactions in 2023.
