Since 2002, AVANA Companies has supported small businesses and provided socially-driven access to capital that preserves wealth and creates growth. Founded by brothers Sundip and Sanat Patel, the Arizona-based company has developed an ecosystem of comprehensive lending and asset management platforms serving small businesses, entrepreneurs and investors in Arizona, nationally and globally.  

AVANA specializes in lending to niche markets in underserved industries like hospitality, cannabis, renewable energy and others. In 2023, AVANA completed several deals that created jobs and stimulated local economies all while utilizing the team’s expertise in the hospitality industry to manage risk and navigate the nuances of hotel construction. These included the following”

● Hotel construction loan, Hartford, CT. The loan allowed the borrowers to make creative use of an old space that would serve the students, faculty and community members of the neighboring major university. The team utilized their remediation skills to help the sponsor overcome environmental challenges with the property. 

● Hotel construction, Norco, CA. The loan allowed the sponsor to pursue building his first flagship franchised hotel after being in the motel industry for years. 

● Hotel construction, Orlando, FL. New construction hotel in Orlando to accommodate post-COVID growth. The hotel supported the expanding business sector and airport expansion in the area. 

● Renovation and expansion of 30-year-old hotel The Whaler on Newport Coast, OR. Once the expansion is completed, it will result in over 50% boost to occupancy tax revenues that can be reinvested into growth and economic development programs for the city.
