Spearheaded multifamily financial transactions across 35 deals

In 2022, Cushman & Wakefield’s New York Equity, Debt & Structured Finance team of Gideon Gil, Lauren Kaufman, Kempton Coady and Zachary Kraft successfully completed a number of notable transactions. These included the American Copper deal, where the team arranged $675 million in acquisition financing.

The team was instrumental in two multifamily construction projects in Brooklyn: 15 Hanover Pl. and 120 Fifth Ave. These developments, upon their completion, will provide a total of 314 and 180 units, respectively, bringing much needed housing to the market. 15 Hanover Pl. will reserve 95 apartments for affordable housing and feature 9,000 square feet of ground floor retail space. At 120 Fifth, 25% of the units will be designated as affordable housing, and the retail portion will house Brooklyn’s first Lidl supermarket.

The team also played a crucial role in the conversion of 160 Water St., a 24-story office building in Lower Manhattan, into 588 residential units. This conversion is one of the first of its kind and serves as a testament to the transformative potential of office-to-residential conversions in New York City.

These are some of the reasons we selected Gideon Gil, Lauren Kaufman, Kempton Coady and Zachary Kraft for inclusion in the 2023 Connect CRE Top Mortgage Brokers and Lenders Awards. These awards recognize industry professionals who have demonstrated the highest standards in commercial real estate finance.
