WeWork Leases 75K SF in Downtown San Jose

After recently leasing 70k sf in the North Financial District, tech pacesetter WeWork is set to join San Jose’s skyline in its first location in the South Bay. The New York-based shared-office startup took 75,000 square feet of space at 75 E. Santa Clara St., and will add its name atop the 14-story tower.

Landlord Harvest Properties and Invesco Real Estate, which bought the 413,000-square-foot complex in July for about $62 million, expect WeWork’s presence to create needed energy for the project. Fast-growing WeWork rents out desks and offices by the month, and has five other locations in the Bay Area.

Newmark Cornish & Carey’s Jeff Arrillaga represented WeWork. Cushman & Wakefield’s Bob Simpson, Brandon Bain, Rob Souza and Mike Baker represented Harvest and Invesco.
