Wells Fargo to Open Branch Locations as Part of Chicago Expansion

Wells Fargo plans to open ten branches locally this year, including its first in Orland Park, as part of its Chicago expansion. The move comes amid the bank’s commitment to investing millions into refurbishing its entire branch network across the United States.

This year, more than 700 branches will be refurbished in six priority markets, including Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. In Chicago, the California-based financial firm signed a 10-year lease at a 4,200-square-foot space at 15051 LaGrange Road. Hobby Lobby, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Ashley Furniture have stores near the new branch.

Wells Fargo currently operates 17 Chicago-area branches and more than 4,000 branches nationally. It opened two branches locally in 2024 and seven in 2025. Last year, Wells Fargo opened its first-ever HOPE Inside Center retail bank branch in Chicago at a 4,584-square-foot branch located at 400 W Division St. in the city’s Old Town neighborhood.
