Wells Fargo Opens New Chicago Bank Branch

Wells Fargo hosted a grand opening to celebrate its first-ever HOPE Inside Center retail bank branch in Chicago. The 4,584-square-foot branch, located at 400 W Division St. in the city’s Old Town neighborhood, is the second to open in the branch expansion network.

Last year, Wells Fargo opened a new River North bank branch as part of the company’s plan to grow its footprint in the Chicago area from seven to approximately 30 branches over the next several years. The expansion is part of the company’s $175 million commitment to the region, which is expected to create nearly 200 job opportunities.

HOPE Inside Centers are located at select branches within diverse, low- and moderate-income neighborhoods. They offer financial education workshops and one-on-one coaching. “This is a monumental occasion for Wells Fargo as we open a new location to serve both businesses and customers in Chicago,” said Matt Ickes, Regional Executive at Wells Fargo.
