Tandy Moving HQ from FW

Tandy Selling Off FW HQ

Tandy Leather intends to sell its primary distribution building and flagship store at 1900 Southeast Loop 820 in southeast Fort Worth to New Jersey food company and distributor Colonna Brothers for $26.5 million. The building consists of 205,000 square feet of industrial space and an additional 20,000 square feet of showroom space.

The Dallas Business Journal reports Tandy intends to close on the transaction in January and enter a lease to remain in the building until about September. After that, the company will prepare to move to a new building in Fort Worth.

Tandy Leather, founded in 1919 in Fort Worth, sells leather goods such as dyes, leather-working tools, finishes, saddles and tack hardware. The company distributes through 99 stores across North America and one in Spain.

The news comes not too long after another longtime Fort Worth business, apparel maker Dickies, announced it was leaving its Fort Worth headquarters and joining other brands its parent company owns at a corporate campus in California.
