San Antonio Developer to Add Hotel to Apartment Project

Rockspring has been patiently assembling parcels utilizing one of its Opportunity Funds in the Tobin Hill area of San Antonio to build as many as 900 apartments. ConnectCRE reported that the company paid $13.3 million for the 15 parcels. The San Antonio City Council has also approved a zoning change for the Houston developer not only for the 900-unit apartment project, but the council okayed a hotel as well.

The San Antonio Business Journal reports that Rockspring has pulled several demolition permits for structures between the St. Mary’s Strip and Pearl to clear the way for the two projects.

The Rockspring Opportunity Fund IV identifies real estate opportunities with value-added potential within the metropolitan statistical areas of Houston-Woodlands and Austin-San Antonio. The fund aims to enhance property values by engaging in entitlement and planning activities as well as horizontal development.
