900 Apartment Units Slated for Tobin Hill
Buildings are already being razed to make way for a 900-unit apartment complex. The San Antonio Zoning Commission passed a measure that would allow Rockspring to move forward on its ambitious plan in the Tobin Hill neighborhood, near the Pearl.
The San Antonio Business Journal reports Rockspring paid $13.3 million for most of the parcels, 15 in all, that are required to build a project of this size. The parcels are bordered by West Josephine Street, East Dewey Place, North St. Mary’s Street, West Grayson Street and Polk Street.
A site plan submitted by CREO Architecture outlined four separate buildings, totaling 900 residential units, 950 parking spots and 60,000 square feet of commercial space. Tobin Hill, to the north of the city core, is one of San Antonio’s oldest urban neighborhoods.
