REPORT: Millennial Travelers Reveal Preferred Accommodations
In Resonance Consultancy’s 70-page report entitled ‘Future of Millennial Travel Report: A survey of America’s fastest growing tourism demographic’, the data suggests that American travelers (ages 20-36) prefer hotel stays over renting an Airbnb when they go on vacation.
Airbnb, the home-sharing giant, continues to expand and nears its IPO, but according to the over 1,500 travelers surveyed, they’d rather stay in a full-service hotel. Coming in second place is staying with friends/family, followed by all-inclusive resorts. Luxury hotels and resorts made the list too, finding favor with 35% of those questioned, while camping trailed closely for 33% of the sampled population.
Although 52% of those surveyed have rented directly from owners using services like Airbnb, it proved not to be their preferred method for finding accommodation during their travels.
