Medina Station Snags 2nd Anchor Tenant
The last time we reported on Medina Station, a 64.5-acre mixed-use development in Mesa, SimonCRE had locked up Target. Now, the prominent power center developer has bagged Dick’s Sporting Goods. The project, at the southeast corner of E Southern Avenue and South Signal Butte Road, is expected to break ground next week.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports Dick’s will occupy a two-story 84,066-square-foot space. Some of the other announced tenants include Einstein Bros. Bagels, Boot Barn, Zara Nails, Cafè Zupas, Goodvets, U.S. Banks and Hawaiian Bros. 70% of the retail space is pre-leased. Simon expects to have retail tenants ready to move in by next summer.
At full buildout, Medina Station will total approximately 300,000 square feet of retail space. The East Mesa mixed-use development will cost approximately $150 million. In early March, SimonCRE closed on a $50 million loan from Zions Bancorporation.
