Target to anchor new Mesa shopping center

Target-Anchored, Mixed-Use Center Planned for Mesa

National retail center giant SimonCRE will spearhead the effort to transform 60 acres of land in east Mesa into a sprawling mixed-use development. A 150,000 square foot, Target will anchor the new center, called Medina Station, which will be on the southeast corner of Southern Avenue and Signal Butte Road, just to the north of U.S. Highway 60. A 50,000-square-foot building will also be available for a large user.

SimonCRE hopes to break ground in early 2025 and finish the initial phases and open by early 2027.

SimonCRE is partnering with Bela Flor Communities to develop Medina Station. Phoenix-based RKAA Architects is the architect. Western Retail Advisors is the leasing brokerage for the venture.

In a previous ConnectCRE story regarding plans at the location, a multifamily community component was part of the plan, but that option does not appear to be part of the new plan.
