Graycor Completes Construction on Wonderverse at Oakbrook Center

Movie lovers have a new way to experience their favorite films at Wonderverse, a new, immersive experience with interactive installations, dynamic attractions and dining experiences.

Graycor Construction Company has completed construction on the 45,000-square-foot, one-of-a-kind entertainment destination at Oakbrook Center in Chicago’s western suburbs. Immersive experiences at Wonderverse include escape rooms, virtual reality, bumper cars, racing simulators, and an arcade.

Sony, the project’s owner, engaged Graycor to take full advantage of its preconstruction services. The project team also included Scenario as the owner’s representative and EXP as the architect of record.

“Graycor impressed us with their meticulous attention to detail throughout the entire process, which was essential to bringing Wonderverse to fruition,” said Jeffrey Godsick, EVP at Sony.

“Partnering with Sony on such a unique and exciting project allowed our team to draw upon Graycor’s decades of experience in building the retailtainment space,” said Steve Oldendorf, Graycor project executive.
